School closure letter
We are writing to let you know that, as you know, from Monday, the majority of children will be working at home until further notice.
We will be uploading work to this blog on a daily basis and would appreciate it if you could oversee the children doing their work. We will be setting Maths, English and one other activity each day, as well as recommending websites where the children can practice basic skills and find out information for topic work. The work will be available by 9am. We know this won’t be an easy time for anyone. We will therefore try to make the work as straight forward as possible whilst keeping it meaningful, as well as fun and creative. Please let us know, by email, if there are problems and we will try to sort them out.
We will be doing some RE work in the run up to Easter and continuing our science, French and humanities topic work. Some of the activities might take the form of a project where the children can create power points, leaflets, models and hand written/drawn pieces etc.
It is really important that the children stay active and healthy during this period of time and Mrs Salisbury will be thinking of ways to encourage them to do this. To begin with, try to get them outside as much as possible on walks, bike rides, trips to the park etc. Mrs Salisbury suggests house points will be awarded for children making it to the top of our hills (Hambledon, Hod and Okeford)- photographic evidence in their home learning books please!
Please don`t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or suggestions. Mrs Wilson will be available on Monday and Tuesdays between 9 and 3.15, and Mrs Ferguson on Wednesday to Friday between the same hours.
