Acers & Oaks visit the Tank Museum in Bovington on 8 October 2025
To enrich the children's learning as part of our Britain at War Project Acers and Oaks visited the Tank Museum in Bovington on 8 October 2025. During our visit to the museum, the children took part in different workshops to help them explore what life was like during the two World Wars.
Britain in the Second World War – Pupils tried on a range of gas masks, helmets and uniforms to discover the work done by the Home Guard, ARP and Women's Land Army.
Funny Tanks of D-Day - Using a model of a Normandy beach, pupils used their problem-solving skills to discover the science behind tanks used on D-Day using a variety of materials and also to find out how tanks were adapted to face the challenges of a beach landing.
