21/5/2020

Well, here we are at half term! I can hardly believe it. Last day of planning.

I have been delighted to see all your incredible work with the Grand Canyon Projects. So much creativity and hard work. Well done! It has really wet my appetite to go back and see it all again. Perhaps some of you may also visit The Grand Canyon sometime in your lives- something to aspire to maybe?

I know how hard it is to get motivated sometimes to do work that is not being marked or shown to the class, so I am bursting with pride that so many of you have kept going and are continuing to enjoy your learning. Remember...` the more you put into something, the more you will get out of it!`

This should also go for your leisure time, so put lots of effort and creativity into enjoying your half term break and I will look forward to hearing from you after the holiday. Keep fit, well and safe my lovelies.

xx

Dear all, please find the planning for tomorrow on the Home School learning blog.

Yr6, when you go through the shape powerpoint, use the answers to help you understand things and then go through again and see if you can remember what to do.

19/5/2020

Dear All,

I hope you have enjoyed the work on The Grand Canyon. I have uploaded a few lovely examples completed by Sam, Wilf and Amalee. I am ready to see more if you would like to send them over to me.

Thank you all once again for all the kind words and support over the last few weeks.

Please find the planning for Wednesday on the Home Learning Blog.

16/5/2020

I hope you have all had a good weekend. please find planning for Monday and Tuesday on the Home Learning blog.

14/5/2020

Dear Everyone,

You have just about completed your 6th week of home schooling- how amazing! I am delighted with your continued efforts and am particularly proud of yr 6 who opted to challenge themselves and do their SATs. I will be busy marking them next week and will let you know your scores as soon as I can.

Tomorrow`s planning is attached and is also on the blog as usual.

I will post Monday and Tuesday`s work on Sunday, and as it is my father`s funeral on Monday, I would appreciate it if you could save any queries until at least Tuesday evening. If I leave anything out of the planning, please improvise with some extra reading or research about the Grand Canyon or something of your own choice. I have really appreciated everyone`s sensitivity over the past few weeks. I am hoping to be back home in the middle of next week, where I can be more in touch and organised.

Many thanks,

Dear All,

Have a look at James` power point fact file about the Grand Canyon on the Learning Blog.

Last day of SATs tomorrow yr 6. Well done everyone. You are all very quiet.....hope it has gone OK .

Once you have finished the papers, put them back in the envelope and either deliver them to school or post to me at: Five Chimneys, Duck Street, Child Okeford, Dorset, DT11 8ET. I will mark them as soon as I can and let you have the results asap.

Please find tomorrow`s planning on the Home Learning Blog and note that Miss Emma has sent a new fitness video for you to try out - see video section of Home Learning Blog.

We are delighted to announce that Miss Emma, our dance club teacher, is going to be sending us a video each week to help us with our fitness and wellbeing. The first one is quite fitness based, but I have asked her to include more dance next week for those who are missing their lessons with her. I hope you enjoy the session, which can be found on: https://youtu.be/4KUMUzPtWHI

Have fun and give yourselves a big pat on the back for completing SATs or for just getting on so well with all your work.

12/5/2020

Goodness me, I don`t know where the days are disappearing to! I hope today has gone well for everyone.

Planning for tomorrow is on the Learning blog- it will be a big day for you, year 6, as you have 2 papers- Arithmetic and reasoning. Make sure you take time to read the questions carefully but keep going as quickly as you can on the arithmetic paper as you have less than a minute per question! You were all doing so well before lock down- let`s hope you haven`t forgotten it all.

Please don`t worry about the tests- just remember they are a chance to celebrate all your learning. If you can`t do one of the questions, just move on to the next one and keep going right to the last minute and take the time to check your answers if you finish early- don`t chuck marks away through carelessness!

Parents, you are allowed to read the questions out loud in maths tests but please don`t alter the wording or give any hints...tempting as it might be!

Whilst bracing myself to try and put up a curtain pole for my Mum tonight, I have remembered that we were supposed to be learning life skills this term. Therefore, your challenge for this week is to learn to iron a t-shirt or pillow case. Think of me struggling with a drill whilst you do your ironing...MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AN ADULT WITH YOU WHILST YOU IRON!!!!

Best Wishes

x

Dear All,

I hope you haven`t all been blown away in the wind today and that yr 6 survived SAT 1 !

Tomorrow`s paper is the reading test- remember to pace yourselves well. It will be organised in 3 sections as normal and you should aim to spend about 15 mins on section one and two and 20 on the last section which is usually the hardest and will take longer.

Also remember :

- How to answer the longer questions by `peeing ` on them and by giving more information rather than less!

-Check how many ticks are required in tick box answers

- Refer back to the text...even if you think you remember the answers!

I hope you have enjoyed the start of the Grand Canyon project and Lizard Point. My family love Lizard Point and it brings out their insatiable competitive spirit.

Yr 5, I hope you don`t feel neglected this week...keep going- it will be your turn this time next year!
11/5/20

10/5/2020

Dear All,

I can`t believe we are in the fourth week of the term already- time is flying past!

This week should have been SATs week and as you know, many year 6s have decided to have a go at last year`s papers so they can get a chance to celebrate all their hard work and progress. The planning will therefore look a bit different to normal.

I hope you are all doing OK. I am aware that I haven`t heard from lots of you for a while and I appreciate that you are probably being conscious about not overloading me whilst I cope with what has happened in my life. I do appreciate this greatly but could everyone send a little something just to let me know that you are still receiving work and that you are OK. I am staying with my mother for the next two weeks and am very happy to continue planning and doing what I can to update the blog. I actually love receiving your news and photos and it is good to know of any issues regarding the work I set.

I hope the SATs work goes OK. Anyone who hasn`t collected papers yet, should call Mrs Hanson before arriving in school and she will then put your envelope outside for collection.

Copies of the papers are attached and on the blog and guidance for parent on how to administer the spelling si also attached.

I would like to wish all Yr 6 good luck and to say how proud I am of them for choosing to take on this challenge- you are all winners before you even start!!!!

Parents, please resist the temptation to help your children in the tests - let them do what they can- they really are amazing and will get a greater sense of achievement if the do it themselves. If they become overwhelmed, encourage them to take a short break and move on to a different question.

I look forward to hearing from you all

xx

7/5/2020

Dear All,

As you know, tomorrow is bank holiday and there is no obligation to do any school work. However, I have put some extra VE day activities on the blog in case you get bored and yr 6 might want to do some last minute revision!

Regarding next week, I am putting the overview on the Home learning blog to give you an idea of how SATs week will look for those doing tests and those not doing tests. More detailed planning will follow as usual. Also uploaded is a timetable for the tests and some instructions so you can prepare. Each test has an instruction page at the front.if you qualify for extra time, an email will follow this one to inform you ( most of the children are already aware if they qualify). Please let me know of any problems.

Have a lovely weekend,

6/5/2020

Dear All,

Check out the blogs for Maisies`s morse code message to her Granddad. Her Granddad was in the army and used Morse code in real life! Can you decode their messages?

Also, have a look at Maisie`s and Finlay`s delicious cakes and Alex`s home grown rhubarb crumble.

Last day of revision for yr 6 ! Well done everyone- it is hard doing this on your own without help and feedback but keep doing your best. Well done parents for keeping them going. You deserve medals!

I will post some extra VE day activiites for Friday in case you feel like doing something extra!

Have a lovely long weekend and make sure you sing your hearts out on Friday evening.

5/5/2020

Dear all,

Please find the planning for tomorrow on the Home Learning Blog.

Hope everyone is doing OK. Do let me know if there are any problems.

Check out Alex`s rhubarb crumble for VE day!

4/5/2020

Dear All,

Please find Tuesday`s planning on the Home Learning Blog.

Please spend some time looking at the British Legion website, and for singing inspiration, google Katherine Jenkins, who will be singing from the royal Albert hall on Friday.

SATs papers are now ready for collection from outside the school office. Please let Mrs Hanson know that you are coming before arrival so she can put your envelope outside the door. Please do not open the papers until Monday ( or Sunday if you, as parents, would like to check things out in advance). We will try to do these papers as formally as possible so that the children get a real sense of achievement. I will send detailed instructions and a timetable later in the week and will notify individuals if they are entitled to extra time.

Best Wishes

Dear All,

I hope you have had a good weekend. I have started putting work on the blog again and have loved the rainbows and stories you have been sending. Keep up the good work.

This week we will be focussing on some revision for yr 6 and also on VE day celebrations.

Year 6, for those of you who have chosen to do SATs papers next week, this week will be a real challenge to your self discipline and determination. We had finished almost all the work before school shut and we were just about to start revising. Put in some hard work this week to make sure you remember things we haven`t done for a while. If you are stuck on anything, please let me know and I will try to help.

Whilst doing the work on VE day, it is worth reflecting on the hardships children had to face during the war and how they must have felt when it all ended. Perhaps we will feel similar when this Covid -19 virus eventually goes away!

I will send attachments over 2 emails as there are some large documents.

Work hard and be happy!

30/4/2020

Dear all,

Sorry, I`m a bit late today. Lovely work flooding in again-well done!

Planning is on the Home Learning Blog for tomorrow. When you do the reading comprehension task, you should choose 1 star -easy, 2 stars medium or 3 stars hard.

Next week I am planning a VE day themed week with some recipes, craft, singing etc. we will also be doing some last minute revision for SATs the following week.

I have heard from the following people that they want to have a go at the papers: Alex, Lauren,Sam,Nathan Amalee Finlay, Anna, Jack, James, Freddie D, Freddie B and Emma.

Could all other yr 6 students please respond to this email with a yes or no to SATs. Remember, there is no pressure to do the papers but I would like to hear from you either way so I know you have received this email.

All the above named pupils have said they can collect papers from school except Emma ( who is in a shielded household). Please could someone who lives near to Emma offer to drop her papers round?

I will let you know when the papers are ready for collection (this will probably be towards the end of next week) and I ask that you phone/email Jenny before you come so that she can put your package outside the school at an appropriate time. I will give you detailed instructions nearer the time. Some people will have extra time to do their tests, and I will let these people know privately next week.

Best Wishes Everyone.

Dear All,

Please find the planning for tomorrow on the Home Learning Blog. For English, please complete the next SPAG test in the 10 min book.I am afraid I have lost track of what number you are on- can someone let me know if this is the last one please? I am looking forward to seeing how your stories are coming along and I hope you are all worn out from skipping.

28/04/2020

Dear All,

I can`t tell you how much I appreciate all your support and kind, kind words. I love seeing all the videos and work you have been doing, so keep it coming and I will try to find time to upload it all on to the blog.

You have all done so well to keep going with your learning- I think this is the hardest week so far- nobody knows when this will all end and... the rain has come! This is when we must all dig deep into our reserves and think about the message the Queen sent us all in her recent speech when she asked us all to behave in a way that will make us proud of ourselves when we look back on this difficult time. So, be nice to your families, find acts of kindness to do each day, GET ON WITH YOUR SCHOOL WORK, and help with the washing up!

Missing you all,

x

Take a look at the new science photo album- one rainbow in there so far!

New poems in the poem album.

The Run!!!!.......Well, today seemed harder than other days but I did manage to knock another 5 seconds off my time ...and, it turns out that we have been running too far! (1.22km). So, I might take Friday off. What do you think?

Other people have also been doing well- Freddie Bailey has improved his time on his beautiful route by the river...although, he still can`t keep up with his dog ( see photos).

Hope the cooking goes well.

Planning attached.

Take care everyone.

I will post news later today but there are some very fast times...I will have to try harder tomorrow!

For now, your planning for tomorrow is on the learning blog- lots of lovely revision, a new life skill and something to make you think of the sea! Have fun.

18/04/2020

WELCOME BACK EVERYONE!

I hope you are all raring to go after a lovely break. We have all sorts of things to be getting on with and I hope you will continue to send me lots of things to look at and put on the blog. You will probably find it a bit difficult to get motivated at first but take a deep breath and get going- it will feel better once you have made a start.

I will carry on posting your work every evening for the following day and will also email it out to parents and don`t forget that you can email me through your parents email account whenever you want to.

We will keep going with a similar routine, starting with Jo Wicks as our wake up call every morning. There will always be a Maths and English activity, a physical challenge and one other activity (Life skills, topic, science, RE, PSHE). I am going to have a look at some of the BBC Bitesize lessons to see if we can incorporate some in our work.

I am very proud and delighted that lots of year 6 have said they would like to have a go at some SATs papers, so I am working out how to get a pack to you. Some people have already said they would be able to collect theirs from school (which is great). Mrs Hanson will leave your envelope outside the office if you telephone her to say you are coming. The papers are not quite ready yet-I will let you know when they are and you collect at your convenience. Please do not open the envelope until SATs week (May 11th)! For those who can`t get in to school to collect their papers, we will arrange to post them to you. Please let me know what you would like to do. There is no pressure to do the papers, it is entirely up to you. After you have completed them all, you will be able to drop them back to school or post them direct to me.

Because of the SATs, we will stay pretty focussed on revision in the 3 weeks leading up to the BIG WEEK, and then things will be more relaxed.

If you have done any work on the Alps over the holidays, please let me know and/or send some photos.

Also, send me photos or news about what you have done during the break.

Really looking forward to hearing from you all again. I have missed you!

3/4/20

News Flash: Ms Watson turns Blogger! ...check out the videos in home learning blog.

(I have pasted all previous blog messages in the home learning section in case you need them)

Dear All,

So, we`ve made it to the end of term! I`m very proud of you all for working so hard and getting used to this new way of learning. Now it is time for a break!

It is really important that you rest your brains and relax during these next two weeks. However, some people may prefer to still have some ideas to work on so I have attached some possible activities. There is no pressure to do these unless you want to.

	A project on the Alps.

This is one of the regions we were going to be studying in our Geography topic. The project can be done however you choose: models, art work, handwritten sheets, power points etc. Some people may not want to do the factual parts but might enjoy making the models of ski lifts and mountain communities. The ski lift model was supposed to link in with our science work on pulleys and gears etc.

I have provided some useful web links and information sheets.

2. Times tables colouring sheets (Easter themed)

3. Mindfulness colouring (Easter themed)

4. A couple of Blog entries.

5. Play on "Lizard Point" to practise your European and World map knowledge.

Remember, if you don`t fancy my suggested activities, there are loads of ideas to keep you busy on Twinkle and other websites.

For yr 6, I would like to know how many of you are still wanting to have a go at some SATs papers during SATs week. It is going to be a bit of a challenge getting hard copies of papers to you, but I will find a way if you are wanting to have a go. You should still have the 2018 reading paper, which we can use- so

don`t look at that yet!

I wish you all a very Happy Easter and hope that you all stay fit and well. Stay active- keep going with Jo Wicks and practise your physical challenges. The weather is due to get warmer, so get outside as much as you can! Try some gardening and cooking and learn new skills.

I will check my emails every morning, so if anyone has any problems or if you want to send me photos of things you`ve been doing, please feel free.

And finally ...we have to say a very fond farewell to Freddie D who was due to leave St Nicholas at the end of this term. We wish him well at his new school and hope that he will come back and join us for our leavers` party when we eventually get round to it!

By the way- check out Ruen`s ball run- "Work of the Day Award!" Quite brilliant!

2/4/20

Good Afternoon everyone,

Thank you for the pictures of your Easter gardens. I have put them in the file below- they are beautiful! I expect you have all got that end of term feeling....I certainly have! Tomorrow will be a light-hearted day- see planning on learning blog. We have had some great news: Maisie, Edith and Wilf have passed their violin exams with marks to be proud of. I am sure this won`t surprise you after that great performance they gave us last month. WELL DONE TO YOU ALL!

Also, I have had an idea (oh no! I hear you groan). Following on from Tiffany`s lovely idea of hanging Easter egg cards on her tree outside of her house, I wondered if we should start a little thing-a bit like the rainbows in the windows idea- and all decorate a tree or fence outside our houses to celebrate Easter and bring cheer to passers by. Have a go... I will.

1/4/20 You are truly inspirational Oaks. What a lovely day I have had watching your videos, reading your jokes and admiring your Easter cards. I have sort of learned how to put videos on the blog (albeit sideways and upside down)! So, now you can see some of the exploits of today`s challenge, which are quite brilliant! have a look in the video file on the home learning page on the right of this screen. James has also sent a video but it won`t upload...am working on it.

Top story: Anna has gained another distinction in her recent singing exam...FAN-TAS-TIC !

`Work of the day award`goes to Tiffany and her family for decorating their lovely spring tree with all their Easter cards ( see photos in Spring Art) Beautiful!

Emma held a handstand for an amazing 19 seconds. Good luck with beating that everyone...it is possible with plenty of practice- you need to find the point of balance. I will publish the leader board on Friday at 3pm for all challenges and you can up date me at the end of the holidays with any further progress. Therefore, get any scores in by lunch time on Friday or save them for after Easter.

Thank you. Not much info yet about the challenges. Will update you in the morning. In the meantime, there are some suggestions from Ms Watson (in case you are getting a bit bored) in the gallery below.

Work of the day goes to Alex for some great art work and his poem. Well done.

31/3/20

Please only bounce balls for 30 seconds- this will keep things more focussed.

30/3/20 Lots of lovely communication again today- thank you! To those who I am not hearing from very regularly- it would be good to hear from you once or twice a week just so I know you are ok. Some people are sending me photos of all their work, which is great, but this is quite time consuming for you. So, I think that, as long as there are no problems with your work book tasks, you don`t need to send them anymore. I would however still like to see the written tasks and art work if possible. Hope the RE went ok today, it was a bit intense! Lighter stuff to come. Work of the day goes to Seb for inspired Easter work- see photos Skipping update: Ruen 86, Harry Hawkes 84, Edith 81. Amazing!

Bats, Balls...trampolines and FRYING PANS: What a great response today- some very creative interpretations of the task ( which I love) ! For example, James has been bouncing whist on the trampoline and Harry H did not have a bat so used a frying pan (see photos)

New category in Isolation Olympics is..`Creative Interpretations` BUT STAY SAFE!

Bats and balls - table tennis: Sam 156, Finlay 83

	Tennis: Freddie D 226, James 160, Edith 148

More wise words from Alfie: The coronavirus has upset us all but we will do this together it's still hard to believe but if we stay inside and focus on the positive it won't be a negative.

Great archives from Jack: Here in 2020 our Prime minister (Boris Johnson) and Prince Charles (Prince of wales) both have covid-19 but with mild symptoms. My uncle who is in the army has been called back from abroad to help with the covid-19 he’s just got to wait to be called in. In London at the Excel centre they are building a hospital for Covid-19. There will be 4000 beds. Mum is still waiting for the final paperwork so she can start work in the hospital as the government have asked student nurses to join, especially the ones who only have 6 months left of their course.

30/3/20

Happy Monday Everyone! Anyone got that Monday morning feeling? if so, the perfect remedy is a dose of Jo Wicks...so get your TVs warmed up for the 9 o`clock slot!

I hope your weekends were OK. It is very strange not to be allowed to do all the things we like to do, isn`t it? In our household, we felt it more than ever over the weekend. Perhaps this is because there isn`t so much structure and things we HAVE to do! Next weekend , and through the holidays, we are going to set ourselves a bit of a timetable/plan just to give the days a bit of shape. Perhaps you could try this if you found the weekend difficult.

I have attached the overview for the week and today`s plans.

Also, -as the real Olympic Games have been cancelled, I have decided to turn our daily physical challenges into our very own " Isolation Olympics". Each category will run throughout the isolation period and more will be added each week. At the end of it all, there will be a medal ceremony ( with real medals). This is getting serious! I will try to include a variety of activities so that there is something for everyone... but remember, even if you can`t do it "YET"....positive mindset... you will improve and who knows what will happen. I have loved hearing about the progress people have made with the challenges so far- Brilliant! Please make sure that an adult verifies your times and scores so we can keep things fair. BTW.....Edith`s Mum has verified 81 skips in 30 seconds. Game on!

27/3/20

We`ve made it! One week done and now it`s the weekend!

I am delighted to say that I have heard from each and everyone of you over the week and have received all sorts of precious work- you should all be very proud of the way you have adjusted to this new way of learning and so should your parents...they have been just as amazing, so be very kind to them this weekend.

`Work of the day`goes to Lauren for her spring time acrostic poem and illustrations (see below...3rd piece in poem gallery).

Try to enjoy your weekend and find the things you can do rather than the things you can`t do.

Look after yourselves.

26/3/20

Lots of great work flooding in again. Well done. You will certainly all deserve a rest at the weekend! I am starting a `work of the day award` and today`s winner is Finlay- check out his lavender art in the spring file below.

I wanted to share Ollie`s Mum`s idea for a tuck shop with you all. She has set up a little shop in the house and has given the boys a daily budget. They then have to plan out their snacks and make them last. A brilliant way of rationing- I`ll certainly be trying it in my house, especially when my son returns home from quarantine next week!

Tomorrow`s work is on the blog. Good luck.

BTW- Edith has managed an unofficial 84 on the skipping- awaiting verification- a repeat performance in front of a witness!

News Flash: Ruen back in the lead for the plank- 5 mins 45 and Emma in 2nd place with 5 min 19.

To cheer everyone up, here is Alfie`s blog for today:

Dear diary,

I have woken to another glorious day the birds are chirping and the sky is blue .I have woken with a feeling of happiness and calm,I feel things will be ok. The day was started more chilled I watched some tele, then I did my 20 minute P.E workout, followed by a double breakfast of toast and pancakes , mum said I could have it as a reward for the exercise! I ventured outside after breakfast to feel the warm sun on my skin, I felt lucky,we have food in our cupboards, and my family close by. The afternoon was school work, but it didn't take long and I enjoyed it,which was good as it gave me time to relax. May tomorrow be as bright and as calm as today.

Alfie

...and here is mine:

You have amazed me again Oaks with your fabulous efforts- so many great pieces of work and uplifting poems.

The competition is hotting up with the physical challenges. So far:

Plank: Lauren overtook Ruen with a fabulous 3 min 22 sec time.... but ....drum roll....Finlay has planked for an absolutely amazing 5 MINUTES! Not sure about the Mums today but my daughter is putting me through a punishing daily yoga/pilates session so perhaps I`ll be able to challenge you all soon.
Burpees: so far... Anna is in the lead with 20 closely followed by Lauren with 19 and Sam and Jack with 12.
Skipping: Record still stands at 77 by Ruen. Mr Salisbury is chasing with 72 ( although he did take about an hour to recover).

Keep going everyone. Plans for tomorrow are on the blog. xx

25th March 2020

Sorry Amalee...a late entry from a very competitive Ruen (inspiring and determined video evidence received) has knocked you in to second place for the plank contest. He managed 3 mins and 18 seconds! Get back on it everyone and don`t forget your burpees!

BOYS BEWARE! Emma`s Dad is in the garage looking for the skipping rope and...she is determined to beat you all...Ashton`s Mum is on Mission Ashton`s room to look for a rope, so, the race is on...

24th March 2020 7pm

Hello Everyone,

I hope you all have aching bellies and tired legs after the physical challenges today! Some great scores... but FB, i think you need to get practising as your Mum put you to shame- she wins the Mum`s prize today, closely followed by Mrs Davies. However, I managed 5 minutes- see photo. Do you think it counts? Real results so far: 1st Amalee -2 minutes 3 seconds, 2nd 1 minute 11, 3rd Alfie 1 minute 9 ( video evidence – and he coped with an interruption from the dog!) FD 57 .....and FB .....!!!!! get to work! I have loved reading your blogs again today and there has been some excellent spag and maths work. Tomorrow`s physical challenge- How many burpees (because I like the word) can you do in 30 seconds?.

Well done everyone. xx

24/3/20 A brilliant idea from Ruen -with good maths involved! We are taking on the challenge of climbing the three hills, but as we are not allowed outside thanks to the Coronavirus we are doing this at our house using our stairs (inside and out). We think the hills are this high:Hambledon - 192m, Hod - 143m, Okeford - 223m...This is 569m in total. We have measured our steps and they are 19cm inside and 17cm outside. This means we have to do 2995 steps inside to complete the challenge. We will try to do it outside as well! Just thought this might be fine for others to do as well!

24TH mARCH 2020 NEWS FLASH: RUEN HAS PROVIDED VIDEO EVIDENCE OF 77 SKIPS IN 30 SECONDS. FANTASTIC! CATCH HIM IF YOU CAN- IT WILL BE HARD, BUT YOU CAN DO IT...POSITIVE MINDSET AT ALL TIMES.

NEW CHALLENGE: SKIPPING BACKWARDS!

23rd March 2020.

Day 1.

Hello Oaks, What a great first day! Thanks to everyone who has sent me work- the blogs have been amazing and will be so precious in time to come. Keep it up. There have also been some impressive pieces of art, which I will put on the blog later and James has skipped 55 skips in 30 seconds. Finlay says he has beaten him but the digital evidence says 61 Finlay ...? Anyone done more?

4 hill photos so far so keep climbing while you can.

Your daily plan should now include a 9am wake-up call, from James Wicks on you tube channel, for a short work out before breakfast! I`ll be doing it too!

Please send me any work that you want me to see and let me know if you are happy for it to go on the blog. Please send as photos as they are much easier to upload.

Get outside and beat James/Finlay!

Monday 23rd March 2020

Hello Oaks,

I hope you have all managed to enjoy the sunshine this weekend and that you are getting used to the idea of being at home for a while. I would like to say how impressed I was with you all for the way you coped with all the news last week- particularly yr 6 and other children who are leaving St Nicholas in the summer, and who might not come back to school in a normal way. I would like to reassure you all that when this is all over (and it will be), we will definitely try to meet up and do some of the normal leaver`s celebrations and activities.

These are strange and difficult times for everybody and you will probably find things frustrating and sad at times, but try to stay positive and motivated. If you do feel a bit down-hearted, instead of hiding away on the x-box or watching another Netflix series, get out in your garden and bounce on the trampoline, skip, kick a ball or just run about. This will make you feel better. Also, don`t forget to try and get up our beautiful hills ( keep your distance from other families- remember Uncle Donald`s walking stick!) Sam has sent me the first photo of Hod Hill, and Millie has found the cairn at the top of Hambledon (see photos below and send me more).

Each Sunday, I will be posting an overview of work for the week which will give you an idea of what is ahead. Then, each night I will give you more detail of the next day`s work. Please don`t worry if you find tasks difficult- just do your best and let me know of any problems.

If you would like to send me work, please collect it together during the day and send one email with everything on it for that day.

I will miss seeing you each day but I look forward to hearing from you all.

Keep safe my lovelies,

Mrs Salisbury xx
