Computing

At St Nicholas Primary School, the children follow the ICT National Curriculum by learning to code, complete simple algorithms and solve a variety of coding problems.  They do this by creating and editing animations and by writing sequences of simple code.  Computing is embedded into our class projects, where project lessons are either linked to or focused on national curriculum computing objectives. We also Scratch Junior, which allows children to learn and practice inputting and creating algorithms.

We use both laptops and tablets in school to allow our children to access the curriculum and develop their coding skills across Key Stage 1 and 2.

E-safety is also embedded into our curriculum, while also being taught periodically through the Common Sense Education scheme.
